New Mahout Hospital in Al Wusta Boosts Healthcare for 20,000 Residents

Oman Inaugurates Mahout Hospital to Expand Healthcare Services

Mahout: Mahout Hospital in Al Wusta Governorate was inaugurated today at a cost exceeding RO 17 million, as part of efforts to enhance healthcare services and support decentralization across the Sultanate of Oman.

The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of HH Sayyid Harib bin Thuwaini Al Said, Advisor at the Diwan of Royal Court.

The hospital is built on a total area of 200,000 square metres, with a built-up area of 17,400 square metres. It provides primary and secondary healthcare services to residents of the Wilayat of Mahout and nearby areas, serving an estimated population of around 20,000.

The facility includes 54 inpatient beds and a range of medical departments and services, including outpatient clinics, an accident and emergency unit, operating theatres, a maternity ward, medical laboratories, a radiology department, a pharmacy, inpatient wards, and a neonatal care unit for premature infants, in addition to supporting service facilities.

HH Sayyid Harib toured the hospital’s departments and was briefed on its facilities and role in enhancing healthcare services in the governorate.
