Muscat: The Environment Authority (EA) today held a meeting with a number of companies to discuss the Green Alliance Initiative which comes within the framework of the national initiative for planting 10 million trees.
The meeting, chaired by Dr. Abdullah Ali Amri, Chairman of the EA, discussed the action plan of those companies which are undertaking the initiative, whether those companies operate in Oman or have local investments.
The Green Alliance Initiative aims to strike agreements between private establishments in Oman and the EA, as well as partner with private establishments to provide financial, technical or technological contributions to achieve the goals of the national initiative for planting 10 million trees.
The initiative also seeks to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040 in a bid to transform to a green economy by maximizing the utilization of natural resources and contributing to limiting carbon emissions.
