    • Mexico elects its first female president

    Mexico City: The ruling party in Mexico announced that Claudia Sheinbaum had won the presidential elections “by a large margin” over her competitor after the polls closed yesterday, Sunday, which will make her the first female president of Mexico.

    The Parametric Polling Foundation expected Sheinbaum to obtain 56 percent of the votes, according to the opinions of voters after they left the polling stations, and the opposition candidate, Xochitl Galvez, to obtain 30 percent.
