MHERI organizes Oman-France knowledge Dialogue Forum

Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation today organized the Oman-France Knowledge Dialogue Forum at the University of Muscat.

The event aims at enhancing cooperation, notably by exchanging experiences between the Sultanate of Oman and the French Republic and initiating opportunities for investment in higher education, research and innovation.

The opening ceremony of the forum was held under the auspices of Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.

Dr. Rahma said in a speech that the forum paves the way for efforts to promote transition to a knowledge-based economy and achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

The number of Omanis studying at French institutions of higher education increased by 30% recently, said Veronique Aulagnon, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Sultanate of Oman. The forum included panel discussions on working papers, meetings between French and Omani universities and later visits to local universities.

The forum also covered a review of some statistics on French higher education institutions, as well the number of international and Omani students studying at French universities.

Through the forum, the Ministry seeks to link Omani universities with French universities, help transfer science and technology and exchange the best practices in scholarly research and innovation.
