MHT launches campaign to promote heritage and tourism components in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism launched a campaign to promote heritage and tourism components during the summer season, under the slogan “Change the Atmosphere”, and it will continue until August.

The campaign aims to stimulate local tourism during the summer season, introduce heritage and tourist sites, and promote tourism to them throughout the year, which is positive for the tourism sector partners.

The campaign includes the promotion of closed places such as museums, commercial and entertainment centers, and moderate-temperature places such as: Jabal Shams and Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar, and the beaches of Al-Sharqiyah South Governorate and Al-Wusta Governorate, in addition to marine activities and experiences that can be practiced in moderate-temperature areas, and presenting tourist companies’ offers for cruises, adventure tours, and accommodation offers. And offers entertainment centers and offers shopping and restaurants.

Statistics issued by the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism showed that the number of visitors coming to the Sultanate of Oman during the first quarter of this year amounted to about 956.6 thousand visitors, of whom 322.4 thousand visitors came from the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. Statistics indicated that the occupancy rate of hotels operating in the Sultanate of Oman during the first quarter of this year amounted to 38 percent.
