Middle East Space Conference 2026 Concludes with Strategic Recommendations

Middle East Space Conference 2026 Issues Strategic Recommendations

Muscat: The Middle East Space Conference 2026, which concluded today in Muscat, issued a set of strategic recommendations highlighting the importance of the upcoming phase in the development of the space sector.

The recommendations stemmed from specialized discussions and dialogue sessions that brought together a distinguished group of experts and executives from government and private sector institutions, as well as academic entities.

The conference called for the establishment of clear and transparent institutional governance for the space sector to enhance confidence and boost investment attractiveness. It also stressed the importance of developing a flexible and enabling legislative and regulatory framework that keeps pace with rapid advancements in space technologies and evolving business models.

Furthermore, the conference emphasized the need to continue investing in national capacity building and the localization of knowledge and technology through training and qualification programs, expertise transfer, and the expansion of strategic regional and international partnerships based on the integration of technology, capital, and knowledge.

The conference underscored the importance of activating the government’s role in supporting market growth, particularly through government procurement policies for space services and applications provided by national companies. Such measures would enable these companies to enhance their solutions, build a competitive track record, and employ space applications to support national priorities, including urban planning, food and water security, disaster management, environmental protection, transportation, and smart cities.

Organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology over three days, the conference witnessed the signing of five agreements in the space sector and featured 17 panel discussions and specialized dialogue sessions aimed at shaping the future of the space sector in the region.
