Minister of Health issues work hours in public pharmacies and their shifts

Muscat: His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Saeedi, Minister of Health, issued a ministerial decision determining working hours in public pharmacies and their shifts, as the first article stipulated that the daily work hours in public pharmacies, except for Fridays and official holidays, be determined as follows:

1,  Morning period: from 9:00am to 1:00pm

2, Evening shift: from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

In all cases, the general pharmacy may work throughout the day after obtaining prior approval to that effect from the General Directorate of Pharmacy and Drug Control.

The second article states that working hours in public pharmacies’ shifts are specified on daily working days, Friday and official holidays, as follows:

A – Public pharmacy shifts in states in which there are (7) seven pharmacies or more are from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm , and from 9:00 pm to 9:00 am, except for Fridays and official holidays, so it is from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. .

B – General pharmacy shifts in states in which there are (4) four to (6) six pharmacies from 9:pm to 1:00 am, with the exception of Friday and official holidays, which shall be from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.

C – Public pharmacy shifts in states in which there are (3) three pharmacies or less, so the shifts are limited to Friday and official holidays from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.

The third article stipulates that the General Directorate of Pharmacy and Drug Control shall set up schedules for public pharmacies on duty, and their dates, and it must publish these schedules on the ministry’s website.
