Minister of Labour issues decision on jobs excluded from advertising upon appointment

Muscat: His Excellency Dr. Mahad bin Saeed bin Ali Baween, Minister of Labor, issued a ministerial decision to amend some provisions of Resolution No. 8/2011, specifying jobs of a special nature that are excluded from the condition of advertisement upon appointment.

The first article of the decision stipulates adding the following jobs to the first article of the aforementioned Resolution No. 8/2011, and their arrangement will be next to the position of “Head of the Follow-up Department for the Implementation of Oman Vision 2040”, as follows:

-Secretary of Fatwa in the Office of the Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman.

-Fatwa researcher in the office of the Mufti of the Sultanate of Oman.

As for the second article, it stipulates the publication of this decision in the Official Gazette, and it shall come into force from the day following the date of its publication.

It is noteworthy that the decision was based on the Civil Service Law promulgated by Royal Decree No. 120/2004, Royal Decree No. 89/2020 establishing the Ministry of Labor, defining its functions and approving its organizational structure, and Resolution No. 8/2011 specifying jobs of a special nature that are excluded from the advertisement condition .
