Ministry Implements two projects to rehabilitate and improve two Falaj in Al Buraimi Governorate

Muscat: The Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources represented in the Aflaj Department of the General Directorate of Water Resources Management is implementing two water projects in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi in the Al Buraimi Governorate, the eastern main of Umm Al-Hehdan.

The construction works of the falaj are focused on: Building a covered canal with a length of  (1100 meters) and the rehabilitation and improvement of the covered Falaj canal with a length of  (3,000 metres), cleaning and removing the compression from the covered falaj channel with a total length of (303 meters) and constructing a covered channel with a total length of (450 meters) in two different locations of the falaj.

Falaj Al Buraimi is one of the large aflaj in Al Buraimi Governorate, and the people of the town depend on it to irrigate their crops, which are estimated at about 15,000 palm trees (15,000 palm trees), in addition to other trees of various crops.

In the same context, the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources completed at the end of last February work on a project to rehabilitate and improve the Sa`ara Falaj in the Wilayat of Al Buraimi. (1200 meters) and the Sa’ara village falaj is one of the large and famous Udaya aflaj in the Wilayat of Buraimi, where it derives its water from Wadi Sa’a. Its total canal length is about 6 km, and the people depend on it to irrigate an agricultural land that contains about (8000) palm trees, in addition to other trees and various kinds of crops.
