Oman Showcases AI Model “Mueen” to Improve Government Services

“Mueen” AI Assistant Supports Government Productivity in Oman

Muscat:  The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology organized today an introductory session on the use of Oman’s artificial intelligence linguistic model “Mueen” to support the development of government performance and enhance administrative efficiency.

The session comes within national efforts aimed at accelerating digital transformation in the Sultanate of Oman through the adoption of advanced artificial intelligence technologies to improve government services, streamline procedures and enhance productivity across the State’s Administrative Apparatus.

During the session, officials explained that the “Mueen” model was developed through partnership with the private sector, reflecting Oman’s approach to empowering national companies and supporting the development of specialized national competencies in advanced technologies.

The session highlighted the role of “Mueen” as a locally developed AI model supporting the Sultanate of Oman’s digital sovereignty. Demonstrations were presented on the model’s operational capabilities in assisting employees and reducing routine administrative workloads.

The AI assistant can perform several tasks, including preparing official correspondence, drafting professional administrative messages and providing specialized instant translation services.

Its functions also include translating large and complex documents according to government work requirements, in addition to extracting and analyzing information, summarizing lengthy reports and generating accurate responses based on specific time periods.
