Ministry of Education, Ooredoo Offer 14 Scholarships with Job Opportunities

Muscat:  The Ministry of Education today signed a cooperation agreement with Omani Qatari Telecommunications Company (Ooredoo) to include scholarships within the Unified Admission Center system, strengthening the alignment between educational outcomes and labour market needs.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al Shaibani, Minister of Education, and Saud Hamad Al Riyami, CEO of Ooredoo, in the presence of officials from both sides.

The agreement aims to launch a national programme combining academic scholarships with employment pathways by offering 14 scholarships in priority technical and digital specialisations, alongside job opportunities for graduates upon meeting specified criteria.

The programme will be implemented in phases to ensure sustainability and quality outcomes, with the first phase providing employment opportunities for beneficiaries after graduation.

The initiative reflects the Ministry’s efforts to enhance the education system through partnerships with the private sector, contributing to the preparation of qualified national talent in key sectors, particularly technology and the digital economy.

It also highlights the role of the private sector in supporting human development and building national capabilities in line with the Sultanate of Oman’s development priorities and Oman Vision 2040.
