Holy Quran Memorization Competition ‘Fastamsik’ Draws Wide Youth Participation

Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs today held a ceremony marking the conclusion of the preliminary qualifying rounds of the Holy Quran Memorization Competition titled “Fastamsik” (Hold Fast), with the participation of around 170 male and female contestants from various age groups.

The competition aims to enhance care and attention devoted to the Holy Quran, support Quranic schools as centers of knowledge and faith, and highlight the role of endowment institutions and their contributions to serving the Holy Quran.

It also seeks to prepare participants for engagement in local and international Quranic competitions and to foster a spirit of faith that promotes the values of sincerity, diligence, and commitment.

Additionally, the competition encourages Omani youth to strengthen their connection with the Holy Quran through memorization, understanding, and contemplation, enabling them to serve as role models in ethics and conduct.

The “Fastamsik” competition is organized across five qualifying centers in several governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, namely Dhofar Governorate, Al Buraimi Governorate, North A’Sharqiyah Governorate, A’Dakhiliyah Governorate, and Muscat Governorate.
