Muscat: The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs issued a circular saying that it has noticed that some worshipers did not adhere to the procedures established by the Supreme Committee in charge of examining the mechanism for dealing with developments resulting from the spread of the Covid-10 Coronavirus.

The ministry called on the masses of worshipers in mosques to adhere to the decisions of the Supreme Committee in order to achieve the common good and to preserve the safety of citizens and residents on this blessed land.

It emphasized the agents of mosques, imams and preachers of the obligation to abide by these decisions and circulars, and urged the masses of worshipers to apply physical distancing and to wear a mask while performing the rituals of prayers, including Friday prayers and Tarawih prayers, in order to avoid the general procedure to ensure the safety and health of people.

The Ministry indicated that the decisions of the Supreme Committee regarding the procedures during the holy month of Ramadan included the following:

First: Restricting attendance for congregational prayers, including Tarawih prayers, to recipients of the Covid-19 vaccine, and prohibiting the entry of non-vaccinated persons, including children under the age of twelve.

Second: Continuing to ban the establishment of charitable collective iftar tables (iftar fasting) in mosques, and other public places

Third: Continuing to work with preventive measures, such as wearing face masks, and physical distancing in closed places, including mosques and mosques.
