Oman Launches Tender for 5 Oil and Gas Concession Areas
Muscat: The Ministry of Energy and Minerals has announced the offering of five new concession areas in the oil and gas sectors for competition among local and international petroleum companies.
The move comes as part of efforts to enhance the efficient utilization of natural resources and support sustainable economic growth in line with Oman Vision 2040.
The offered concession areas—Blocks 12, 16, 42, 45 and 55—are located across geographically diverse regions with promising geological potential.
The ministry affirmed that the offering reflects its continued approach to strengthening an investment environment based on transparency and equal opportunities, contributing to attracting investments, facilitating technology transfer and increasing added value in the oil and gas sectors.
It explained that the application process includes several stages, starting with reviewing available opportunities, followed by registration and submission of required documents, access to technical data and the submission of proposals through the designated platform.
The ministry invited interested companies to review tender details via the official platform, noting that registration begins today and will continue until 30 September 2026. Results will be announced following the completion of technical and financial evaluations.
The initiative aligns with the ministry’s direction to maximize the value of hydrocarbon resources and strengthen partnerships with international companies, supporting the sustainability and growth of the sector.
