Ministry of Labour announces to receive private sector applications to support Omanis job seekers

Muscat: The Ministry of Labor announced the opening of the field to receive private sector applications wishing to benefit from wage support for Omanis in the category of job seekers who are registered in the Ministry’s registry, during the period from 6/8/2021 to 7/8/2021

In the statement Ministry of Labour said: In an implementation of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s directives to quickly implement operational initiatives, including supporting the wages of new Omanis entering to the labor market in the private sector in the amount of (200) two hundred Omani riyals, provided that the employer bears the agreed wage difference, for a number of (15,000) fifteen thousand job opportunities for a period of two years.

where the steps as follows:

1. Companies: Register the institutions wishing to benefit from the support via the link https://ext-sshr.mocs.gov.om/mol_govsup/login.aspx

2. Ministry of Labor: sorting and reviewing applications by the Ministry of Labor team.

3. The Ministry of Labor: The company will be announced with the approval of professions.

4. Ministry of Labor, companies: electronically registering work contracts and then signing an agreement with the ministry for companies to approve it.

The Ministry of Labor also clarified the conditions for benefiting from the support, which are as follows:

The employment contract shall be registered directly from the beginning of the government support.

The Employment should be at least for a period equal to the period of government support (four years).

The support will be for a job seeker who has not previously worked.

The distribution of support will be according to educational qualifications (30% for those with a general education diploma, 30% for those with a post-secondary diploma, 40% for university graduates).

The initiative does not include job seekers on study seats (universities, colleges and institutes).

Employment must take place after a month, maximum, of the given final approval.
