Muscat: The Ministry of Social Development honored 30 women in the category of glorified researchers, business owners, rural women, agricultural pioneers, entrepreneurs in small and medium enterprises and craftswomen, in a ceremony held today under the patronage of Her Excellency Dr. Laila bint Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social development at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, as part of the Sultanate of Oman’s celebrations of the Omani Women’s Day, which falls on the 17th of October.
In the “glorious researchers” category, Dr. Aisha bint Salem Al Harthiya, Assistant Professor at Sultan Qaboos University, Dr. Maha bint Khamis Al Balushi, Assistant Professor at Sultan Qaboos University, Dr. Fakhria bint Khalfan Al Yahya, Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Sultan Qaboos University, and Dr. Nawal bint Khamis Al Rasibiah, Professor, were honored. Assistant at Sultan Qaboos University, and Somaya bint Saeed Al-Siyabiya “innovative”.
The Ministry also honored the “Business Women” category: Dr. Salwa bint Abdul Amir Al Lawati, Areej bint Mohsen Al Zaabiyeh, Siham bint Ahmed Al Harthiya, Moza bint Amer the Hebrew, and Fatima bint Suleiman Al Muhammad.
In the category of “Rural Women and Pioneering Agricultural Work”, Somaya bint Abdul Rahman Al-Zadjaliah was honored for the “Terf Dates” project, Zaima bint Saif Al-Salamiah for the “Jeddah Mixes” project, Ohoud bint Rashid Al-Shibliah for the “Yabiab and Burm Natural Honey” project, and Badria bint Saif Al-Hodar For the “Budour Al Masanna Corporation for the Comprehensive Manufacturing of Spices and Pickles”, and Asal Bint Aslam Ahrair for the “Samharam Cheese” project, Alia bint Abdullah Al Nabhaniyah for the “Al Rawaa Al Shamkha” projects, and Sheikha Bint Nasser Al Jahouriya for the “Plastic Sheds for Poultry Breeding” project, and Sabha bint Khalfan Al-Muqbaliya on the project “A Model Apiary for Breeding and Production of Honey”, Maryam bint Saeed Al Shamsiah on the “Distinguished Rural House” project, and Shafiqa bint Salem Al-Amiri on the “Shatha Al Jabal Al Akhdar” company.
In the category “Entrepreneur in small and medium enterprises and craftswomen” were honored: Tahra bint Saeed Al-Diriyah, representing the “Textile Creativity” Foundation, Zuwaina bint Sultan Al Rashidiya, representing the “International Craft Products Foundation”, Hania bint Sultan Al Wahaibi, representing the “Herfiya Textile Industry” Foundation, and Amira bint Abdullah Al Busaidi, on behalf of the Yusr Smart Solutions Foundation, Hanan bint Muhammad Al Kasibiya on behalf of the “Dekka Engineering Services Foundation”, Maryam bint Khalifa Al Amriya, on behalf of the “Youth Vision for Services and Investment” Foundation, Amal bint Abdullah Al Raeesa on behalf of “Dar Al Aseel Trading” Foundation, and Warda Bint Saif Al-Manjieh, representing the “Al-Hudhaifa Global Solutions” Foundation, Khawla bint Suleiman Al-Muqbaliya, representing the “Shuaa Al-Hambar Trading Foundation”, and Ruhiya bint Rashid Al-Khaifi, representing the “Latafa” Foundation.
The ceremony also included the announcement of the results of the “Initiative” competition launched by the Ministry of Social Development in cooperation with the Omani Telecommunications Company “Omantel” to train 60 members of Omani women’s associations from various wilayats of the Sultanate of Oman; To build the digital capabilities of Omani women, especially after they enter the home business market.
The participants were trained on many axes, such as Google tools for small and medium businesses, Facebook “meta” technologies for e-commerce, identifying market needs in terms of the commercial idea, preparing the commercial plan, the plan for displaying the business on the Internet, e-marketing, and managing advertising campaigns. e-commerce, selling products and services through social media, managing commercial and financial transactions such as electronic payment gateways, financial technology, and expansion strategies from home commerce to entrepreneurship.
The ceremony also witnessed the launch of the “Rifi” platform for promoting, marketing and selling the products of rural women and entrepreneurs in agricultural, livestock, fishery, handicraft activities and related industries. On the 7th of November 2021 AD, this platform, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East, presents the types of products of all types and sizes in an organized and easy manner, and aims to reach the consumer in the Omani market, regional and global markets, and wholesale and retail traders.
This platform aims to become specialized in marketing and selling rural women’s products, and to expand the provision of its services to its affiliates, and among the best electronic platforms in the Middle East and North Africa, targeting many products produced and manufactured by rural women in the Sultanate of Oman, artisans, manufacturing products, and perfumes. Oils, leather, skin care products, confectionery, food, agricultural, livestock, fisheries, and related industries, as well as products for families produced outside the framework of rural women, products of developed women’s and voluntary associations, and products for female prisoners.
The “Revi” platform also provides some services to its affiliates, such as permanent communication to provide support such as product photography, product pricing method, e-marketing, providing specialized training seminars, presenting products in a professional manner, daily marketing of products, contracting with international delivery and shipping companies, and electronic supervision and follow-up on delivery Products to the consumer, in addition to managing the daily sales, and paying the financial dues on the dates agreed with the suppliers of the products to the platform.
