Ministry of Transport, Royal Oman Police seizes foreign trucks for violating land transport law

Muscat: Oman’s Ministry of Transport ,Communications & information Technology in cooperation with the Royal Oman Police was able to seizes foreign trucks for violating land transport law.

In a statement Ministry of Transport ,Communications & information Technology said : In light of Ministry of Transport ,Communications & information Technology (MTCIT) efforts to regulate land transport industry & enabling the local transporters, the ministry in cooperation with ROP, has managed to  stop foreign transportation means that are  transporting goods between  two locations within Oman territories as well staying in Oman past the allowed time & violating passage permits in Oman.This is considered a violation against land transport law and ts executive regulation. Currently legal action is pending against all the stopped violators.

The Ministry urges all companies and individuals benefiting from land transport services in Oman to contract with the local transportation means. The ministry ensures that it will continue its inspection campaign on the foreign transportation means to check their compliance to Oman land transport law and its executive regulation when it comes to entering Oman.
