Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Reveals Details of Tour of Oman 2026

Tour of Oman 2026 to Kick Off on 6 February with 18 International Teams

Muscat: The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth today unveiled the details of the 15th edition of the Tour of Oman 2026, which will kick off on 6 February with the participation of 18 international teams, during a press conference held in Muscat.

Saif bin Sabaa Al Rashidi, Chairman of the Oman Cycling Association and Director of the Tour of Oman, said that the Tour, launched in 2010, has witnessed remarkable development over the years, becoming one of the world’s most prominent cycling races and earning a distinguished position on the International Cycling Union (UCI) calendar.

He noted that the Tour has evolved into a premier global sporting event, reflecting the Sultanate of Oman’s growing stature in hosting major international sports competitions.

Al Rashidi added that the 2026 edition will feature 18 international teams, in addition to the Oman national team, with the race stages officially approved.

The Tour will begin with the Muscat Classic, starting from Al Mouj and ending at Al Bustan, covering a distance of 179.165 kilometres.

The first stage will start from the Flagpole in Muscat Governorate and conclude at Hawiyat Najm (Sinkhole) in the Wilayat of Qurayyat, spanning 174.838 kilometres.

The second stage will run from Al Fayha in the Wilayat of Samail to Al Jabal Al Sharqi in the Wilayat of Al Hamra, covering 193.442 kilometres.

The third stage will start from Al Rustaq Fort and end in Yiti, with a distance of 194.968 kilometres.

The fourth stage will begin at Al Suwadi Beach in the Wilayat of Barka and finish in the Wilayat of Sohar, covering 151.263 kilometres.

The final stage will start from the Wilayat of Nizwa and conclude at Al Jabal Al Akhdar, over a distance of 159.270 kilometres.
