Ibra: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion organized an awareness workshop in cooperation with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Wilayat of Ibra in Al Sharqiyah North Governorate, under the title “Together to Ensure Freedom of Competition”.
The workshop reviewed the competition protection and monopoly prevention law, the unified anti-dumping law and the compensatory and control measures of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
Zahran bin Salem Al Mahrouqi, Director General of the Center for Competition Protection and Monopoly Prevention, said in the opening speech of the seminar: The seminar comes to introduce business owners and owners of small and medium enterprises to the services of the Center for Competition Protection and Monopoly Prevention, by introducing the laws and regulations that the center supervises its implementation, in addition to shedding light on Prohibited practices regulated by law, in addition to introducing those targeted to economic focus, and practices harmful to international trade.
It is worth noting that the Competition Protection and Monopoly Prevention Center at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion seeks to amend the Competition Protection and Monopoly Prevention Law in line with regional and international developments, by preparing competitive indicators for the Omani market, preparing a series of studies and research for various local sectors in the Omani market, and publishing them to raise awareness the society.
