Ministry Warns Against Shops Demanding Personal Account Transfers

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion has urged consumers to report any commercial establishment that refuses card payments and requests personal bank transfers instead.

In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that such practices violate approved payment regulations and compromise transparency in commercial transactions. It called on consumers to immediately report violations through the “Tajawob” platform to help safeguard fair and reliable shopping practices within the community.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring market compliance and ensuring that all establishments adhere to regulated and secure payment methods.
