More than 384,000 people received treatment at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital in 2023

Muscat: Sultan Qaboos University Hospital  (SQUH) achieved distinguished medical numbers during the year 2023, in the number of surgical operations and patient service. Within the framework of the “Harvest 2023” report published by Sultan Qaboos University, official medical statistics showed that the number of surgical operations performed during the past year (2023) reached 8,453 operations.

Regarding external medical services, the hospital’s clinics and outpatient departments received a large number of patients during the year, amounting to 384,407 patients, which highlights the vital role of the university hospital in meeting the needs of the community and providing health care. In terms of inpatient care, the number of patients in inpatient departments reached 23,402 patients.

Sultan Qaboos Hospital is one of the reference hospitals in the Sultanate of Oman, which was opened by His Majesty the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said  in 1979.
