Muscat (ONA): The total insured Omani employees at the end of 2020 stood at 448,393, including 193,639 in the public sector and 254,754 in the private sector, according to the statistical overview of registered employees in pension funds 2021, issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI)
The date indicated that the number of Omani males working in the public sector reached 111,007, while the number of females stood at 82,632. The number of Omani males working in the private sector reached 187,386, while the number of females stood at 67,368.
The total number of Omani retirees reached about 119,830, including 99,085 in the public sector and 20,745 in the private sector. The number of Omani males who retired in the public sector reached about 82,560, while the number of females reached 16,525. The number of Omani males retired in the private sector reached 17,460 and the number of females is 3,285.
The age group 35-39 constituted the largest number of active insured persons with 104,064 citizens.
The age group 30-34 years, stood at 97,924 citizens and the age group 40-44, stood at 76,297 citizens.
Regarding the active insured Omani employees who are working abroad and registered in the pension funds until 2020, the data showed that the number of citizens working in the United Arab Emirates reached about 4,505 citizens, followed by 1,118 citizens in Qatar, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with 370 citizens the State of Kuwait with 216 citizens and 89 citizens in Bahrain.
