Muscat: Oman vaccinates More than 43,000 Covid-19 vaccination until 18 feb , 2021

More than 100,000 taken COVID-19 vaccine in Oman

In a statement The Ministry of Health said that, to date, the total number of vaccines in the Sultanate with the vaccines “Pfizer – BioNTech” and “Oxford – AstraZeneca” reached 43,486 people.

The number of vaccinated people in the first phase of the first period reached 27,400 people, 95% of the first dose and about 24,465, or 90% of the second dose, and the targeted vaccinations are being completed with the second dose of the Pfizer / BioNTECH vaccine.

The Ministry has included a new target group for the second period of the first phase, namely the elderly (those aged 65 years and over), regardless of whether there is a risk factor or chronic disease or not, after obtaining 100,000 doses of the AstraZeneca / Oxford vaccine. To date, about 16,086 people have been vaccinated, at a rate of 22%, and the targeted vaccinations with the first dose are being completed.

The number of doses reached about 156 thousand doses, including 56 thousand doses from Pfizer Biontech and 100 thousand doses from AstraZeneca / Oxford.
