More than 90 Omani companies in Egypt

Muscat: A recent report by the Egyptian State Information Service confirmed that the Egyptian-Omani economic relations are witnessing great momentum, especially in light of the belief of the political leadership in the two countries in the importance of developing and expanding the volume of joint relations between the two countries during the next stage.

The report added that the Egyptian-Omani economic relations are close and strategic, based on enhancing joint commercial, industrial and investment cooperation between the two countries, and aiming at boosting the economic growth rates of Egypt and Oman.

The report stated that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries amounts to about $500 million annually, while Omani investments in the Egyptian market are distributed to 92 companies in the fields of industry, tourism, construction and agriculture, while Egyptian investments in the Omani market amount to $680 million, distributed among 142 companies specialized in the fields of infrastructure. Infrastructure, road projects and real estate investment.

The report pointed out that the ongoing Omani companies range from companies specializing in sardines and tuna, biscuits, pasta and pasta companies, detergents, juices, tomato paste, marble, wood, furniture, plastic hoses, mattresses, medicines, dairy products and others.

The report mentioned that the most important Egyptian exports to Oman are dairy products, agricultural products, electrical machinery and equipment, synthetic plastics, ceramic products, pharmaceuticals, boilers, essential oils, chemical products, copper and its products, while the most important Egyptian imports from Oman are iron, steel and steel products, Fish and crustaceans, machinery, equipment, and petroleum products, mineral fuels, and mineral oils.
