

Muscat: The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) continues to work on creating integrated infrastructure, providing an attractive environment for investment in the Sultanate of Oman, and accelerating development in the various governorates.
Eng. Daoud bin Salem Al-Haddabi, CEO of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), said: The Corporation is currently supervising or directly implementing more than 30 projects in all of its 12 industrial cities, in addition to its technical arm, “Knowledge Oasis.” Muscat and the Al Mazyouna Free Zone, at a total cost estimated at RO 70,956,000, distributed among consulting services projects, and the implementation of infrastructure and facilities such as roads, water and sewage networks, irrigation, rainwater drainage channels, road lighting, sewage stations, surveillance cameras, and security fencing.
He added in a statement to the Oman News Agency that “Madayn” works, through its development arm, the “Industrial Innovation Academy,” to promote industrial innovation and applied research, and build national capabilities in the industrial sector by paying attention to industries emerging from various economic sectors in the lower sector, and identifying industrial investment opportunities. And develop and embrace them as innovations or applied research, so that they become of added value that enables national capabilities, services, products, and assets in the industrial sector, and adopts automation technologies and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, in line with “Oman Vision 2040,” which places innovation, scientific research, and optimal use of technology among the main factors common to all its strategic objectives.
He explained that the Industrial Innovation Academy works through several tracks, most notably research, development and industrial innovation, which is concerned with helping and enabling companies operating in the industrial sector to transform ideas that were developed in the research and development stage into products and services that can be produced and marketed, and among the projects that the Academy is working on in this Al Masar project: “Innovation in the Omani Sarooj”.
The CEO of Madayn said: The Academy is also working on building capabilities by intensifying its programs targeting human capital and the knowledge economy based on the Fourth Industrial Revolution and artificial intelligence, noting that one of the most important projects that the Academy is working on in this path is the “Harmonization” programme. Outputs of vocational colleges with the needs of the labor market in Madayn” and the program “Omanisation of middle and senior jobs in existing companies and factories in Madayn”, as well as the path to empowering factories and companies operating in industrial cities and contributing to improving their operations or developing new products and services, in addition to providing new training programs that help factories in developing the skills of its employees and improving productivity.
He added that one of the most prominent projects that the Academy is working on is the “Sustainability” program, which targets troubled factories and finding technical and innovative solutions for them, in addition to cooperation with the “IGAD” platform of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation in presenting factories’ challenges to find solutions for them through academic bodies. Pointing out that there are development arms and strategic projects for the Academy, such as supervising strategic projects that aim to achieve the Academy’s path projects, and implementing programs and projects with a strategic impact on the industrial sector that aim to improve the quality of services, increase efficiency, enhance competitiveness, and achieve development and sustainability in the industrial sector, and among the projects it works on The Academy in this field supervises the “Oman Makers Center,” which specializes in manufacturing prototypes for innovations, in addition to supervising the Sohar Production Project, which specializes in advanced industries and mold manufacturing.
