MTCIT continuous efforts to receive visitors for Dhofar Khareef season 2024

Haima: The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, represented by the Roads Department in Al Wusta Governorate, is making continuous efforts to raise its readiness to receive the Dhofar Khareef season 2024.

Bakhit bin Salem Al Awaed, Director of the Roads Department in Al Wusta Governorate, said that the department is working to remove sand from the roads leading to the Dhofar Governorate, such as the Adam – Thumrait road, the Sinaw – Duqm – Hasik road, and the Al Ashkharah – Mahout road, in addition to the Mahout – Al Zamaim road. . He added that the department has awarded a tender to the Road Diversions Department in the Wilayat of Haima in the first quarter of 2024 for the remaining parts of the Adam-Thumrait dual carriageway, in addition to restoring networks and painting road markers such as directional signs and reflectors to ensure smooth traffic flow for the safety of road users.

The Director of the Roads Department in the Central Governorate confirmed that the department is continuously implementing periodic maintenance work for all road networks in the governorate by installing and changing a number of guidance and directional signs on all roads in the governorate, in addition to managing and operating the diversions of the Wilayat of Haima on the (Adam – Thumrait) road, in addition to installing wire protections on the sides of the road.

He pointed out that the department has developed a plan to cover all bridges in the Central Governorate with solar energy, in addition to continuing the process of removing quicksand from the roads on an ongoing basis to preserve the safety of road users.
