Municipality of Dakhiliyah continues to implement number of projects in Nizwa

Nizwa: The Municipality of A’Dakhiliyah continues to implement several municipal projects in the field of infrastructure and services in the governorate’s wilayats. With the aim of developing and upgrading the municipal work system, in the Wilayat of Nizwa a package of projects is being implemented in various fields at a total cost of OMR 950,000.

Engineer Khalil bin Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Director of the Projects Department at the Municipality of A’Dakhiliyah, said: “In the state of Nizwa, the road leading to the municipality’s slaughterhouse was recently completed with a distance of 700 square meters, in addition to paving the parking lots designated for it with an area of ​​3000 square meters, as well as paving the public parking spaces in the Nizwa Central Market with an area of ​​10 square meters.” thousand square meters, and the completion rate for both projects reached 85 percent.

He added that the project of paving the internal roads of the Al-Rumaili Industrial Scheme in Birkat Al-Muz was recently awarded, with a length of 4 km, and paving the road link with the Al-Namaa neighborhood scheme, with a length of 500 meters, and work is underway to prepare detailed designs and plans and obtain the approval of the competent authorities.

A vegetable and fruit market is also being established in the Nizwa Central Market, and this project is a continuation of the facilities and components of the central market, which includes many establishments such as the market for dates, meat and fish, the artisan market, and others, which are witnessing a tourist boom and increasing demand most of the year, indicating that the project includes the construction of a closed hall. With an area of ​​760 square meters, with the aim of finding a location that meets all the technical and health requirements for displaying agricultural products. The completion rate of the project is approximately 50 percent. The market was designed in accordance with the components of the existing market, which are characterized by their heritage character.

Regarding the internal road maintenance project in the wilayat, the director of the Projects Department in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate explained that the maintenance work for those damages has been assigned to a specialized company. And the construction of a concrete wall in a number of affected areas in the wilayat, including Sa’ol, Al-Turath neighborhood, Al-Jal, Taimsa, Al-Muaimir and Tanuf, where the completion rate reached 80 percent.

The Director of the Projects Department in the Municipality of Dakhiliyah indicated that the work of developing and rehabilitating Birkat Al-Mouz Park and Wadi Al-Masala Park in Tanouf was carried out.

He stressed that the implementation of these projects is being followed up by the technical staff in the municipality of the governorate to ensure the implementation work and the extent of their conformity with the technical specifications and their completion on time according to the allotted schedule.
