Musandam real estate activity crosses OMR 15 million during 2021

Musandam:The geographical location of Musandam Governorate, being an important gateway to strengthening economic relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the neighboring countries, contributed to the statement of the urban vision of the governorate, in order to achieve economic and social development and the advancement of the standard of living of the community, in addition to the optimal exploitation and effective and sustainable management of the unique natural and cultural components.

Engineer Ali bin Ahmed Al-Ma’ashani, Director General of the General Directorate of Housing and Urban Planning in Musandam Governorate, said in a statement to the Oman News Agency: The urban strategy of Musandam governorate is compatible with the capabilities and components of the governorate and in a manner that integrates with the comprehensive urban strategy.

Al-Ma’ashani referred to many projects and sites that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has identified as promising projects, including sites for free zones in the center of Musandam Governorate, and sites for renewable energy projects, which include solar and wind energy projects and green hydrogen projects, in addition to allocating sites for the tourism sector in the fields of tourism. Environmental and adventure tourism, among others.

The Director General of the General Directorate of Housing and Urban Planning in the Governorate of Musandam said that the ministry has worked on allocating sites within the urban strategy of the Governorate of Musandam since the second half of the past year 2021, as sites have been allocated for fisheries projects, and some projects in the final procedures such as fisheries for fisheries and others.

He explained that there is a tendency to review dam projects in the Musandam Governorate, and the ministry has re-studyed a comprehensive and clear study of the valleys’ streams and classified them to determine the locations of dam construction and benefit from them to enhance the underground water storage and open new areas capable of planning. The appropriate proposals were submitted in cooperation and coordination with the competent authorities, as The location of Musandam Governorate necessitates intensification of efforts regarding dam projects due to the nature of the governorate, and the directions that were adopted within the urban strategy of the governorate, in addition to the exploitation of high areas that have a distinctive view and provide protection from valleys.

Al-Ma’ashani said: The ministry seeks to cover the needs of citizens and government agencies of land in the governorate in line with its nature and optimal utilization, pointing to the ministry’s approach to providing multiple housing options, including the “choose your land” initiative, through the electronic withdrawal of lands associated with services, and the (Sorouh) initiative. ) Through cooperation with many financing and service agencies to distribute housing with multiple options within the projects of integrated residential neighborhoods.

With regard to the work of the Directorate during the past year, the Director General of Housing and Urban Planning in the governorate confirmed that (547) plots of land were planned and (67) mixed-use plots distributed, and (434) plots were registered for the first time, and (4099) title deeds and (63) titles were issued. ) A title deed for citizens of the GCC states. There are (445) requests for proof and registration of property before the Committee for the Evidence and Registration of Property, while (41) families benefited from the housing assistance program.

With regard to real estate activity, the cash value of real estate in the governorate during 2021 amounted to more than (15) million Omani riyals, as well as the real estate fees collected more than (600) thousand Omani riyals.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning had recently organized a workshop entitled (Musandam – Corridor of International Relations), on the approach to implementing the urban strategy in Musandam and the governorate projects, as part of a series of initiatives organized by the Ministry with the offices of the governors to put the urban strategy in the governorates into practice.
