Muscat Dialogue Sessions Concludes with Initiatives on Sustainable Development, Investment

Muscat: Muscat Governorate today concluded the Muscat Dialogue Sessions, titled “Towards a Sustainable and Prosperous Future”, with 26 initiatives covering a range of sectors.

The panel discussions emerged with 26 initiatives on the theme of “humanization of cities and entertainment industry”, 7 initiatives on the theme of “environmental volunteering”, 29 initiatives on the theme of “investment opportunities” and 60 initiatives on the theme of “technology and innovation”.

The initiatives also deal with developing public marketing areas and beaches, ideal utilization of natural reserves and the establishment of an electronic platform for environmental volunteering, as well as the setting up of integrated tourism camps and a unit for fish products.

The concluding ceremony was held under the auspices of Sayyid Saud Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat.

Ahmed Hamad Al Humaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, said that ideas proposed during the panel discussions would be converted into real opportunities that take shape in the near future.

Speaking about Muttrah Square project, which recently won Bilarab bin Haitham Award for Architectural Design, Al Busaidi said that detailed maps of the project were finalized and that the project would enter bidding stage in the first quarter of 2024.

The panel discussions saw the participation of academics, entrepreneurs, specialists, the representatives of colleges and universities, among other parties.

The closing ceremony was attended by members of the State Council and the Shura Council, walis, members of the Municipal Council and representatives of government departments.   -ONA
