Muscat: Muscat Electricity Distribution Company achieved a good performance during 2019 financial year and operational level compared to 2018, which was evident in the remarkable progress in the improvement of the electrical network performance and the high-level customer service across the Sultanate of Oman.
The company has also made significant progress in the most important global indicators in measuring the performance and efficiency of the electrical network and its quality in ensuring the continuity of electricity for subscribers, as the first indicator witnessed an average decrease in the network interruptions period as the year ended with a decrease of 3 percent compared to 2018, which recorded at 103.6 minutes, This decrease is an achievement compared to the target of 120 minutes for 2019.
The second indicator, which is the average frequency of interruptions in the network, witnessed 1.00 outages per subscriber in 2019, a decrease of 12 percent compared to 2018.
These positive results come as a result of the readiness of the human cadre to manage systems and programs and care for innovation and the company’s continued development and expansion of the network within a clear investment program to establish and enlarge the stations and electrical lines.
