Muscat Governor Receives Qatari Minister of Municipality

Muscat: Within the supporting and enhancing ways of common cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the sisterly State of Qatar. His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, received today (Monday) His Excellency Engineer Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, Minister of Municipality in the State of Qatar, and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, friendly conversations were exchanged and topics of common interest were discussed. Reviewing relevant experiences and projects. The two sides also stressed the importance of cooperation’s enhancement and experiences’ exchange in common fields.

For his part, His Excellency the Governor of Muscat, in his speech, highlighted administrative decentralization in the governorates, empowering them to perform their role in the governorates’ development, and municipal affairs’ improvement in all its sectors and services particularly. It is according to the abilities that offered by royal declarations.

Accordingly, the governorates were given a legislative beginning that constituted additional value in the ideas that produced several projects and initiatives with a vision based on community participation on the side. On the other hand, cooperation with government and private organizations.

His Excellency Engineer Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah also talked about the common characteristics and components between the two countries. Its role in the current relations’ enhancement between them. It simplifies the way to enhance bilateral cooperation in various development and service fields, and in the sectors of urban planning and components’ investment. As well as, Exchanging information, experiences and solutions with sustainable measurements.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources hosted the visit of the Qatari delegation to the Sultanate of Oman during the period (from 5 to 6 May this year). It included meeting with various organizations in the fields of housing, urban planning, and development projects in the governorate. It aims to exchange proficiencies and experiences in these sectors.

The most notable sectors are the fisheries’ field, Fish farming, food security, and other fields of scientific and research cooperation and exchange of experiences with the sisterly State of Qatar. It will enhance the visions for development and cooperation between the two countries during the coming period.
