Muscat Governorate Organizes a Training Program on Local Administration


Muscat: Muscat Governorate will organize a specialized training program tomorrow, Sunday, entitled Local Administration within the priority of developing sustainable governorates and cities, at the training center of the Ministry of Interior. It will last for two weeks during the period from (21 – 31) January 2024.

The training program targets members of the decentralized administration in Muscat Governorate who hold senior supervisory positions such as governors and general managers, intermediate, such as deputy governors and directors, and direct supervisory, such as department heads in various structural divisions in the governorate. With the aim of qualifying and empowering them with skills and best practices in local administration, which will contribute positively to local development achievement in Muscat Governorate and its competitiveness enhancement.

The training program will address various topics, most notably defining the nature of local administration, its origin and history, and its general foundations and principles’ clarification and local administration governance in the Sultanate of Oman.

Additionally, the role of the local administration in Oman Vision 2040 achievement, and its supreme purposes in the Omani public sector. As well as the directional planning of the governorate and projects, the professional competencies and members’ competencies of local administrations in the Sultanate of Oman. The comprehensive vision of local administration and how to adopt it in institutional work.

The training program relies on various educational methods’ application, such as interactive lectures and practical applications to enhance the scientific aspect.
