Muscat is Prepared to Deal with the Weather

Muscat: In highlight of the potential effects of the “low rain” weather condition, Muscat Governorate, represented by Muscat Municipality, continues their intensive efforts to prepare for this situation and secure rainwater drainage in all states of the governorate. In addition to preparing and cleaning valley crossings, by equipping field work teams with the necessary equipments.The Muscat Governorate, represented by the Muscat Municipality, is working to take several measures to reduce the potential effects of the weather condition, accelerate the drainage of rainwater, and reduce its accumulations.The field teams continue to fully prepare to deal with this situation, by rehabilitating some service facilities and cleaning the streets of waste with the aim of facilitating the movement of vehicles and pedestrians.

Muscat Municipality is also keen to activate all means of communication to deal with the weather situation through the communications center in Muscat Governorate (1111), which works around the clock to receive reports and observations and work to address them as quickly as possible according to the available capabilities.As Muscat Governorate and Muscat Municipality seek to find sustainable solutions to the challenges related to rainwater drainage, with the aim of avoiding surface water accumulations in such weather conditions. Muscat Municipality recently implemented several rainwater drainage projects in a number of states of Muscat Governorate, through which it is hoped to find sustainable solutions to treat water drainage, and ensure that it does not affect service facilities and basic infrastructure projects.
