Muscat: The Muscat Municipality assigned the implementation of the Al-Ansab – Al-Jifnain road dualization project, raising the efficiency of the road by constructing three lanes in each direction starting from the “Falaj Al-Sham” area in the wilayat of Bausher to the “Al-Jifnain” area in the wilayat of Seeb, and converting the existing roundabouts into bridges and tunnels, with the establishment of the necessary protections, systems and channels for surface water drainage.

The project includes raising the efficiency of the three existing roundabouts on Al-Ansab Street, which extends between the Muscat Expressway and the Falaj Al-Sham area, by constructing bridges and intersections on the existing Al-Ansab roundabout, so that it will be replaced with a bridge with free lanes, and an intersection with traffic lights will be created below it, and in the existing first Falaj Al-Sham roundabout, it will be replaced with a bridge with free lanes. Below it, an intersection with traffic lights will be created, and at the existing second Falaj Al-Sham roundabout, it will be replaced by a bridge with free lanes, and a tunnel will be created underneath it.

It includes the construction of four intersections with bridges and tunnels and the creation of an intersection in the Al-Awabi area.

It consists of constructing a bridge with three free lanes in each direction, with an intersection with traffic lights at the bottom, creating an intersection at the cement factory, removing the existing roundabout, constructing a bridge with overhead traffic lights, a tunnel for the main road with three lanes in each direction, creating an intersection at the entrance to the industrial refinery, and constructing a bridge with three free lanes in Each direction, and below it is an intersection with traffic lights.

The project also includes the creation of an intersection in the Al-Jifnain area, the construction of a bridge with three free lanes in each direction, and an intersection with traffic lights below it, the improvement of some service streets parallel to the project, the construction of channels for surface water drainage, and the necessary protections for the project.

The project aims to raise the efficiency and flow of traffic at various times, enhance the development movement between the Muscat Governorate and the Al Dakhiliyah and Al Sharqiya Governorates, shorten distances and serve the plans, facilities and urban neighborhoods adjacent to the road.
