Muscat Municipality floats tender for expansion of Muscat Expressway

Muscat: Muscat Municipality has issued a tender for the implementation of the project (Expansion of the Muscat Expressway) to enhance the flow of traffic and reduce congestion.

In a statement Muscat Municipality said: Muscat Municipality has issued a tender for the implementation of the Muscat Expressway Expansion Project to enhance the flow of traffic and reduce congestion.

The expansion starts from Al Qurm Interchange to Halban Interchange and extends 1 lane in each direction to connect the Muscat Expressway Al Batinah Expressway.

Components of the project

Expanding the highway to six lanes in each direction

Expansion of existing bridges.

Works related to intersections.

Water drainage channels.

Protection works for slopes.

Floor paving works.

Protection and service transformation work.

Concrete barriers and guardrails.

Replace the previous lighting with environmentally friendly lighting.

Project goals

Facilitating the movement of people by enhancing the flow of traffic.

Improving the movement of goods transportation to contribute to advancing the national economy.
