Muscat Municipality re-introduced the Al Mouj and November 18th Street expansion project for bidding.

Muscat: In order to increase traffic efficiency in the area and its associated streets; Muscat Municipality has put forward for bidding a project to expand “Al Mouj” and “November 18” Streets to three lanes in each direction, and to convert Al Mouj Roundabout, Al Bahjah Roundabout, and Al Ishraq Roundabout in Al Hail North into high-capacity intersections equipped with traffic lights. In addition to paving service streets for existing commercial buildings in the area.

Components of the project:

Widening November 18 Street to three lanes in each direction.

Expanding Al Mouj Street to three lanes in each direction.

Converting (Al Mouj Roundabout, Al Bahjah Roundabout, and Al Ishraq Roundabout in Al Hail North) into high-capacity intersections equipped with With traffic lights.

Establishing surface water drainage channels necessary for the project.

Establishing the necessary protections for the project.

Project goals:

Raising the efficiency of traffic movement in the region, and working to ensure its smooth flow at all times.

Promoting trade and development activity.

Serving plans and facilities surrounding the area.
