Muscat Municipality suspends issuing approvals for clothing collection containers

Muscat Municipality suspends issuing approvals for clothing collection containers in public places in Muscat Governorate.

In a statement Muscat Municipality said: Muscat Municipality wishes to advise the public that issuing approvals for the placement of clothing collection containers in public places in Muscat Governorate has been suspended; due to the accumulation of containers at street entrances and residential neighbourhoods, which led to traffic problems, environmental, health and community observations, and as they depreciate the aesthetic appearance of public view.

Hence, in order to regulate this issue, all committees, associations and institutions that have previously been authorized to place containers in public places must remove them within one year from the date of this announcement, while confining the service of donated clothing collection to be made through e- applications, only after obtaining the approval of the competent authorities.

Please note that Muscat Municipality shall take the necessary measures in this regard in case of non-compliance with the above.
