Muscat: Muscat Municipality announces reopening of central market of fruits & vegetables
In a statement Muscat Municipality said: Operating in conformity with the procedures and guidelines set by the Supreme Committee dealing with Covid-19 pandemic. Muscat Municipality announces resumption of operation in the Central Market to consumers effective Tuesday, January 5th 2021.
Opening hours to wholesale trade – from 5 to 11 AM
Opening hours to consumers – From 1 to 6 Pm
First: Opening Hours to Consumers:
- From 1:00 to 6:00 PM
- Entry from Gate 2
- There are parking lots inside the market, and others outside as per the annexed map
- If required additional parking lots will be opened at the side ground.
Second: Opening Hours from Wholesale trade
- From 5:00 to 11:00 AM
- Entry is according to the current system, from Gate No.1 for chiller lorries and trucks weighing (3tons) & above
Third: Preventive measures:
- Practice and encourage physical distancing
- Make sure to wear a face mask when entering the market, and while moving inside.
- A maximum of two people are allowed in each vehicle
- Entry is limited to people ages 12 years and above
In that regard, we urge all market-goers to take self-preventions From Covid-19 through practicing & encouraging social distancing, wearing face masks and using disinfectants.
