Muscat Nights 2023 Kick Off on Thursday in Four Locations

Muscat: Organized by Muscat Municipality, the winter season extravaganza “Muscat Nights” will kick off on 19 January and conclude on 4 February 2023.

Ahmed Mohammed Al Hamidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, said in a press conference that activities of the 17-day event will be take place in four main locations, which are Al Qurum Natural Park, Al Naseem Park, Oman Automobile Association and Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

To attract the largest possible number of visitors, the municipality allows every location to have its own schedule, activities and shows.

Al Hamidi pointed out that the activities of Muscat Nights are not limited to entertainment, but extend to tourism promotion and means of supporting local industries by providing access for social and cultural communication.

It is an opportunity to let Muscat Nights inspire greater concepts in for the festival’s future edition.

“We wanted this event to enhance innovation among ambitious youth, productive families and business owners by offering all these segments different areas to showcase their products in various locations of Muscat Nights venues, Al Hamidi added.

“Muscat Nights are a starting point for Muscat Municipality’s agenda for the current year,” Said Al Hamidi, hoping that the event will live up to the aspirations of society.

Al Hamidi stressed that Muscat Nights extravaganza is envisage to strike a balance between identity and modernity. It is hoped to cater to the needs of different segments of society and keep pace with the requirements of the entertainment sector.

The venues of Muscat Night’s activities have been selected with great precision. As a development in this edition of Muscat Nights, entertainment points have been dedicated for global firms to showcase their products, notably through the use of technology. Also, a smart phones electronic application has been devoted to ticket booking and propagation of Muscat Nights schedule prior to the start of the extravaganza.

Speaking about the economic impact of Muscat Nights, Al Hamidi pointed out that the majority of the event’s contracts (90%) have been awarded to local companies.

Al Hamidi affirmed that, when planning Muscat Nights, emphasis was laid on the quality, rather than the number, of activities. “We are discussing with other departments concerned to find a specialized alternative location for entertainment activities in future,” Al Hamidi added. – ONA
