Nakhal Public Park Opens as Integrated Recreational and Investment Hub

Nakhal: Nakhal Public Park in South Al Batinah Governorate was officially opened today in its new form after the completion of comprehensive development and renovation works. The inauguration took place under the patronage of His Excellency Nasr bin Hamoud Al Kindi, Secretary General of Royal Court Affairs.

The project is considered one of the most prominent service and recreational projects implemented in the Wilayat of Nakhal this year, reflecting the Governorate’s keenness to provide integrated recreational environments that cater to the needs of various segments of society.

The park spans an area of approximately 50,000 square metres, with a total project cost exceeding RO 459,000, while its investment value amounted to more than RO 550,000. Development and renovation works were completed over a period of 16 months, during which all facilities were upgraded in accordance with the highest standards of quality and safety.

The revamped park features a wide range of facilities, including expansive green spaces, shaded walking paths, shaded seating areas, and children’s play zones designed in line with approved safety standards. It also includes an open-air theatre with tiered seating for hosting cultural and community events throughout the year.

Additional facilities include a waterfall and dry fountain area, prayer halls for men and women with accompanying restrooms, as well as two commercial kiosks equipped to provide services to visitors.

His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Saleh Al Busaidi, Governor of Nakhal, said that the project represents a qualitative addition to the Wilayat’s service and recreational infrastructure, embodying ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life and provide an integrated recreational environment that meets the needs of families and community members of all age groups.

He pointed out that the development was carried out in accordance with a carefully considered vision that takes into account standards of quality, safety, and sustainability, contributing to the creation of a civilised recreational outlet that enhances the social and tourism appeal of the Wilayat, while also supporting investment activities in line with future aspirations.

For her part, Engineer Balqis bint Hamad Al Subhi, Project Manager, said that the project was implemented in accordance with the highest quality and safety standards. She expressed hope that the park would become a distinctive recreational destination for the residents and visitors of Nakhal, contribute to strengthening the recreational and investment landscape, and add qualitative value to public facilities in the Governorate.

On the investment side, the park includes several designated zones, such as an equestrian area covering 2,128 square metres, an electric games area spanning 2,881 square metres, and a motorcycle area of 2,416 square metres, enhancing the diversity of recreational activities and supporting local investment opportunities.
