Muscat: Nama Group (NG), which is committed to play a key role in national sustainability goals, will present its sustainability initiatives at the forthcoming Oman Sustainability Week from March 13 to 17, 2022, under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
As a Strategic Sponsor, (NG) will provide visitors with a firsthand narrative of its ongoing sustainability ventures at the exhibition and highlight its achievements in key Oman vision 2040, including renewable energy and North South Interconnection Project (Rabt).
In addition, a total of three papers will be presented by Nama Group executives and their knowledge partners.
Suleiman bin Khamis al Qasmi, Chief of Planning and Asset Management, at Oman water and Wastewater Services Company (OWWSC), who will focus on integrated water resources management. The paper will shed light on the company’s market-ready technological innovations that can substantially contribute to making the water sector sustainable and help identify which ones are particularly suited to be deployed in a specific region.
OWWSC intends to meet the requirements of 98 percent of customers through water networks connections. Currently, four strategic transmission projects are underway to provide upstream transmission infrastructure till 2040 and beyond. In addition to major networks projects, OWWSC is executing a significant number of small and medium size networks.
Discussing regional and national success stories, Eng Yaqoob al Kiyumi, CEO of Oman Power and Water Procurement Company, will speak on national and international programmes for Science, Technology and innovation (STI). His session will focus on concrete regional and national programs that support transition to sustainable industrial development and circular economy. He will also highlight specific success story with the introduction of ibri II in 2021.
There will also be a presentation on ‘Sustainable Energy and Energy Positive Communities by Rodrigo Costa, Chairman and CEO, REN (Portugal), who will share major technological innovations that are enabling energy provision for the masses and what is needed to deploy these at scale in the regions.
