Nama Electricity Supply organizes a cost-reflective tariff forum for major subscribers

Muscat: Nama Electricity Supply Company today organized a cost-reflective tariff forum for major subscribers with the aim of reviewing the most important developments in the cost-reflective tariff and the services provided, enhancing the development partnership to build a sustainable economy and involving stakeholders in all the details that contribute to improving subscriber satisfaction.

During the forum, several topics were presented, starting with defining the concept of cost-reflective tariffs, the available options, and the advantage of each option. The company was keen to provide the best practices that help the subscriber ensure the optimal use of electrical energy by taking the necessary measures, and in order to provide the subscriber with the opportunity to choose the most appropriate option. Among the options available for calculating the monthly electricity consumption bill, the company launched an interactive simulation service for cost-reflective tariff options and how to calculate them, enabling the subscriber to choose the appropriate option that matches the pattern of electrical energy consumption.

All electronic services provided by the company were also reviewed, which contribute to improving the quality and speed of services, and the importance of benefiting from the successful experiences of subscribers. A number of working papers were presented that reflect realistic experiences and models that would help the rest of the subscribers in raising the level of optimal energy use and reducing the cost of using electricity.

Salem bin Saeed Al Kamyani, CEO of Nama Electricity Supply Company, explained that holding the forum comes from the company’s belief in the importance of communicating with subscribers, and its constant keenness to keep the company’s subscribers informed, so that it contributes to achieving the satisfaction of our subscribers and ensuring the sustainability of the service.

He added that one of the most important topics that the forum will discuss is the use of renewable energy and the ways that can be followed in institutions to implement optimal consumption of electrical energy and make savings in electrical energy, indicating that what is meant by the cost reflected in the cost is the tariff that reflects the actual value of producing, transmitting, distributing and supplying electricity to the final subscriber.

Eng. Salman bin Ali Al Hatali, Chief Operating Officer of Nama Electricity Supply Company, stressed the importance of the subscriber’s knowledge of the details of the network connection and electricity supply agreements and their most important terms and conditions, which enable subscribers to know all their rights and obligations, which comes as an initial step to begin the work of connecting our subscribers’ projects to the electrical current. The forum was attended by representatives from Nama Group companies, government and private agencies, stakeholders from the cost-reflective tariff category, and a number of investors who own projects with high consumption of electrical energy.
