RO 3 Million Water Network Project Completed in Al-Mudhaibi

76km of Water Pipelines Completed in Wadi Andam Villages

Al-Mudhaibi: Nama Water Services has announced the completion of the project to establish water distribution networks in the villages of Wadi Andam in the Wilayat of Al-Mudhaibi, North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, as part of its efforts to ensure service sustainability and keep pace with urban and population expansion.

The company stated that the project has reached a 100 percent completion rate and that preparations are currently underway to begin supplying water to homes after completing water quality testing and disinfecting the network, in line with the highest health and technical standards.

Engineer Awad bin Khamis Al-Shibli, Project Manager, explained that the project, with a total cost of approximately RO 3 million, falls within the company’s plans to expand water services and meet the needs of residents in the villages of Wadi Andam.

In a statement to the Oman News Agency, he said that the project included connecting water networks to nine villages: Al-Ghariyin, Al-Habat, Mahliya, Al-Aliya, Al-Washal, Sayh Al-Sarat, Al-Mazari’, Sayh Al-Budur, and Al-Falij. The project provided 1,180 household connections, benefiting around 6,000 residents, with pipeline extensions spanning 76 kilometres.

He added that the works included the expansion of the existing Khadra Bani Dafaa pumping station in Al-Habat village, the construction of three fiberglass storage tanks, each with a capacity of 90 cubic metres, and the establishment of a new booster pumping station in Al-Washal village. These facilities aim to enhance distribution efficiency and ensure uninterrupted water supply.

Engineer Al-Shibli noted that the project, which was implemented over 937 days, generated a local added value of approximately RO 2 million, while contracts worth more than RO 500,000 were awarded to small and medium enterprises, supporting their participation in national development projects.

He affirmed that the completion of the project marks an important step in strengthening water infrastructure in Al-Mudhaibi and improving service quality, stressing that final testing and sterilization procedures are currently underway ahead of the commencement of water delivery to beneficiaries in the coming period.
