National Day: Oman’s first AI-powered satellite takes Omani flag into space

Muscat: It’s a historic moment for Oman, announced Lens Oman company on its official account. Lens Oman said that it is proud to present the image of first satellite (OL-1) carrying the flag of the Sultanate of Oman on its first journey into space.

In another video, Lens Oman said: “From the 360-camera onboard OL-1, Oman’s first AI-powered satellite, witness the breathtaking beauty of the aurora as captured from space. It’s a symbol of Oman’s progress into space exploration and our commitment to unlocking new insights for a sustainable future.”

Coinciding with the Sultanate’s celebrations of the glorious 54th National Day, Lens Oman Company extended its warmest congratulations and blessings to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, and to the loyal Omani people. May God protect this country and may its joys and achievements continue.

On November 11,2024, “Oman Lens” officially succeeded in launching the first Omani satellite registered in the name of the Sultanate of Oman with the International Telecommunication Organization (ITU). The satellite specialises in remote sensing and earth monitoring. It is the first advanced optical satellite enhanced by artificial intelligence developed locally.
