National University of Science and Technology Celebrates white coat ceremony for 166 medical student

Sohar: The National University of Science and Technology, represented by the College of Medicine and Health Sciences in Sohar, celebrated the annual ceremony by wearing the white coat for the batch of 166 medical student.

The ceremony was sponsored by His Excellency Dr. Saeed bin Hareb Al Lamki, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Affairs, in the presence of a number of officials.

Dr. Salem bin Khamis Al Araimi, Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research, delivered a speech in which he pointed to the role played by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, the Ministry of Health, and all government sectors in improving and advancing the university’s outcomes and achieving its mission in medical education.

Professor Muhammad bin Ali Al-Shafi’i, Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, confirmed that the annual ceremony in its eighteenth edition is a global tradition that symbolizes the beginning of clinical training, explaining the importance of leadership principles, ethics, human values, communication skills, and how to care for patients to be distinguished doctors in the medical fields that they will choose.

The ceremony included a visual presentation of the stages of medical training and education in various health institutions, in addition to honoring the health institutions and doctors cooperating in the field of clinical training for medical students, in addition to wearing the white coat and taking the medical oath.
