NCSI begins survey of arrivals and departures

NCSI begins survey to determine exact tourist arrivals in Oman

Muscat: The National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) begins today “Arrivals” and “Departures” survey, in cooperation with the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism and the Royal Oman Police, and will continue until the end of 2024.

The survey aims to draw a broader picture of the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman within the framework of the role played by the National Center for Statistics and Information to provide reliable data to those interested and support decision-makers to develop the tourism sector, which is one of the sectors relied upon for economic diversification.

During the survey, the total number of tourists who visited the Sultanate of Oman will be estimated, and their demographic and economic characteristics will be measured, with the aim that this data will contribute to understanding the reality of the Omani tourism sector and working to develop appropriate plans and identify the challenges facing this sector.

The survey targets a sample of Omanis and residents arriving from a trip from outside the Sultanate of Oman, and a sample of departures who visited the Sultanate of Oman during the different months of the year at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport, and land ports during 232 working days distributed over the days of the year.
