NCSI Implements 40th session of Consumer Confidence Survey

Muscat: The National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI) will begin implementing the 40th session of the Consumer Confidence Survey for the fourth quarter of 2023 tomorrow and the survey will continue until the 21st of December 2023.

The survey targets Omani citizens aged 18 years and over and the target sample size is at least 1,500 citizens from various governorates. The representation of males and females in relation to society, different age groups and educational levels has been taken into account.

Data will also be collected by telephone from the Communications Center of the National Center for Statistics and Information.

The consumer confidence index is one of the important economic indicators that gives a clear picture of the economic situation of Omani families.

The survey aims to measure the development of the financial condition of Omani families and the factors that affect negatively or positively the level of Omani economy.

The survey also aims to identify the future prospects of the Omani economy, the economic situation of households at the present time and their purchasing power of various durable goods, as well as the availability of job opportunities at the present time and their future prospects.   -ONA
