Oman Advances Data Integration as NCSI Reveals 2025 Achievements

Muscat:  The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) has issued its 2025 report, documenting key achievements and initiatives that strengthened its role as a national reference for official data and statistics in the Sultanate of Oman.

The report highlighted efforts to support planning and decision-making, alongside continued development of the national statistical system and improved institutional performance.

During 2025, the NCSI launched the National Strategy for Statistics and Information (2025–2030), aimed at unifying methodologies and enhancing data integration in line with Oman Vision 2040.

The Centre also obtained ISO 27701 certification in data protection and privacy, reflecting its commitment to international standards and reinforcing confidence in official data.

In the field of digital transformation, the report noted the implementation of the first household income and expenditure survey using intelligent technologies, contributing to improved data accuracy and efficiency in economic and social indicators.

The NCSI signed memoranda of understanding with local and regional entities, including the General Authority for Statistics in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to establishing academic partnerships to develop national expertise and support research.

The report further indicated active regional and international engagement through hosting Arab statistical meetings and participating in global forums and conferences, highlighting Oman’s role in advancing statistical cooperation and knowledge exchange.

It also underscored the importance of data in supporting the national economy through specialized surveys, the introduction of new indicators and the provision of accurate statistics to guide development policies.
