

Muscat: During the period from February 23 to March 2, 2021, the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources organized marketing outlets for the sale of honey products in commercial complexes in the Governorate of Muscat, in addition to the participation of two electronic platforms during the same period, namely the “Oman Honey” platform and the “Beekeeper platform”.
The number of participating beekeepers reached about 34 beekeepers who provided types of honey, which are Sidr, Al Sammar, Flowers, Frankincense, Al Atam, Al Sarh, Talha, Abu Twaiq, honey with nuts, honey with fruits, honey spoons, and cosmetic products such as creams with beeswax, and these outlets aim to provide The opportunity for beekeepers to introduce the public to their various honey products and an opportunity for consumers who want to buy honey easily.
The marketing outlets organized by the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources in three commercial complexes and the two electronic platforms achieved positive results, with the quantity sold amounting to five tons of honey with a value of approximately 70 thousand Omani riyals.
It is noteworthy that the 13th Omani Honey Market, which was held in December 2019 in the Grand Mall Muscat, has achieved sales of 142 thousand Omani riyals, which visitors spent on the purchase of 5894 kilograms.
