New paid parking spaces added in Oman: Muscat Municipality

Muscat: Muscat Municipality has announced on Sunday, that effective March 6th 2022, many cars parking in the muscat will be added to metered parking lots.

In a statement Muscat Municipality said: This is in pursuant to administrative decision (151/2016) issuing a regulation governing the use of public parking lots in Muscat and endeavoring the enhance traffic flow and order, Muscat Municipality  wishes to announced on adding the following car parks as metered parking spaces, effective from March 6th 2022.

1- Car parks that surround the Sultan Mosque in Ruwi

2- Car parks adjacent to the Sultan Qaboos Street in Southern Al-Khuwair and opposite the commercial buildings.

3- The new car parks at Al-Khoud souk, and the one behind Ooredoo store.

Metered parking will be applicable daily from 8am to 1pm and from 4pm to 9am, except Fridays, Saturday and public holidays announced by the concerned authorities.

Reservation methods –

People who wish to reserve a parking space can do via sms : – compose and sms to 90091 containing your car number and code and the time period required (in multiples of 30 minutes to a maximum of 300 minutes) for example , (OOOOAB 30). This can be extended following the same steps.

Reservation also can be done in alternative methods to book parking space though Baladiyeti app or via Municipality website http://www.mm.gov.om/ to obtain or renew a parking permit or to inquire about or pay fines.
